DevDocs ("DevDocs," "we," "our," or "us") provides documentation consulting, technical content services, and related software products. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you regarding your information.
This Policy applies when you visit our website, submit a form, schedule a call, participate in an intake process, or otherwise interact with us. It is a notice about our practices, not a request for consent. Where consent is required, we request it separately.

We collect information you voluntarily provide, including:

- Information shared during discovery calls or intake conversations

Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we may collect information such as:

- Advertising attribution and campaign information
- Consent choices
Advertising attribution information may include UTM parameters, landing page and referrer information, and advertising click identifiers such as Google Click ID (gclid) or Microsoft Click ID (msclkid). If optional analytics is enabled, it may also include analytics client and session identifiers.
We collect this information from you, your browser or device, our service providers, and—when appropriate for business development—from public sources or professional referrals.
How we use information
We use collected information to:

- Evaluate potential engagements

- Improve our website and content

- Attribute inquiries and completed intake sessions to marketing campaigns and measure advertising conversions

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not use personal information from these interactions to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means.
Legal bases for processing
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar law applies, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Consent — for optional analytics, advertising measurement tags, and third-party embeds where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Steps at your request before entering a contract and performance of a contract — to respond to project inquiries, evaluate an engagement, and provide requested services.
- Legitimate interests — to operate and secure our website, prevent fraud and abuse, understand campaign performance, improve our services, and communicate with business contacts, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligations — to comply with applicable law, accounting requirements, and valid legal requests.
Analytics and cookies
We use cookies, browser storage, pixels, tags, and similar technologies. These currently include:
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager — website traffic, behavior, event, and conversion measurement
- Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising — campaign attribution and conversion measurement
- Microsoft Clarity and Brevo — website interaction and marketing-performance measurement
- Vercel Analytics — cookieless website traffic measurement
- Functional embeds — third-party tools you choose to load, such as Calendly (scheduling) and Fireflies.ai (intake), which set their own cookies
- Necessary technologies — our consent cookie and technologies needed for security, fraud prevention, load balancing, and core website operation
We use advertising-related technologies for campaign attribution and conversion measurement. These technologies may allow an advertising provider to associate a website visit, form submission, or completed intake with an advertising campaign. For enhanced or offline conversion measurement, we may send Google Ads or Microsoft Advertising a one-way hashed version of an email address, a click identifier when available, the conversion time, and limited transaction metadata. Hashing reduces direct exposure of the email address but does not make the data anonymous.
Campaign parameters and click identifiers present in a landing-page URL may be stored for the browser session and included with a form submission so we can identify its source. Optional third-party browser tags follow the consent controls described below. We have not enabled advanced cookieless measurement for visitors who reject optional cookies.
Rejecting optional cookies prevents optional browser tags from loading. It does not prevent us from recording a form submission or completed intake in our business systems. When configured, a completed Fireflies intake may also be reported from our server to Google Ads or Microsoft Advertising as an enhanced or offline conversion using the limited conversion information described above.
Cookie consent
In the European Union, EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we ask for opt-in consent before loading optional analytics tags or functional embeds. If we cannot determine a visitor's region, we use the opt-in setting. In other regions, optional analytics may be enabled by default where permitted, and you may reject it at any time. Everywhere, you can change your choice through the "Cookie settings" link in our footer, and we honor a recognized Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal by disabling optional categories.
The banner currently bundles optional analytics and functionality into a single optional-cookies setting, which you can accept or reject. A blocked functional embed may also offer a separate click-to-load choice for that embed. Declining optional cookies will not affect the site's core functions; optional scheduling or intake embeds will require a separate click before they load.
Third-party services
We use third-party providers to operate our business and website. Depending on how you interact with us, these providers may process information on our behalf. Examples include:
- Vercel — website hosting, infrastructure, and privacy-friendly analytics
- Google — Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Google Ads conversion measurement
- Microsoft — Microsoft Advertising conversion measurement and Clarity
- HubSpot — CRM, form processing, and lead management
- Brevo, Resend, or similar providers — email delivery and marketing communications
- Calendly — scheduling / booking widget
- Fireflies.ai — meeting recording, transcription, and AI-assisted intake
- Sentry, Better Stack, or similar providers — error monitoring, observability, and service reliability
- Cloud hosting, storage, project management, and communication providers
The information a provider receives depends on the service and your interaction with it. Providers process information under their applicable terms and data-protection commitments. Some providers may act as independent controllers for limited activities, such as their own security, fraud prevention, or advertising-platform operations.
Discovery calls and AI-assisted intake
If you participate in a discovery call, intake conversation, or automated intake process, information shared during those interactions may be recorded, transcribed, summarized, or analyzed using third-party tools, including AI-assisted transcription services such as Fireflies.ai, for business purposes including evaluating project fit, understanding requirements, improving service delivery, and recording a completed lead or advertising conversion.
Where required by applicable law, we will notify you that a call is being recorded prior to or at the start of the session.
International data transfers
DevDocs operates globally and serves clients in the United States, European Union, United Kingdom, and other regions. Information we collect may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States, where our service providers operate.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, such transfers are made in accordance with applicable data protection law, including through the use of Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms where required.
Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information. These may include:
- Access — request a copy of the information we hold about you
- Correction — request that inaccurate information be corrected
- Deletion — request that your personal information be deleted
- Objection — object to certain processing activities

We do not sell personal information for money. Because some laws may define advertising-related disclosures as "sharing," you may use Cookie settings or a recognized GPC signal to disable optional browser-based advertising and analytics tags.

Retention periods vary based on the type of information, the duration of our relationship, provider settings, applicable limitation periods, and legal requirements. Inquiry and lead information may be retained to respond to requests, maintain business records, measure campaign performance, and support appropriate future communications. Consent records, security logs, and conversion records may be retained separately for audit, fraud-prevention, and compliance purposes.
Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. For material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users.
